Run Open-Source Manus Locally With OpenManus π
You don't need the invite code for this oneπ€©
If you live in the modern era, I am sure you have heard about Artificial intelligence. Technology has become much more advanced in recent years, and every business strives to produce the most intelligent AI.
Recently, social media has become fuzzy with the emergence of a General AI Agent called Manus.
Why did it become famous? Manus is shown the capability to handle and execute many tasks independently, instead of only suggesting things. It can be used to handle many complex tasks that you donβt even realize previously.
Manus might be amazing, but itβs an invite-only for now as the time this article was publishedπ.
Luckily, there are open-source alternatives for Manus called OpenManus. You donβt even need to wait for it!
How does it work? This article will explore that, so letβs get into it.
How Does Manus Work?π‘
Before we move on into the code implementation, we should understand how Manus works. Currently, Manus has not published the actual components they were using. However, community discussions have tried to pinpoint the components:
Manus can plan tasks using a task decomposition system, which breaks down the user requirements into a specific list.
The AI system might rely on Model Context Protocol (MCP), which allows collaboration between system components.
A scheduler exists in the Manus system to schedule which tasks were executed based on the task decomposition system.
Manus relies on multiple built-in agents to handle specific tasks.
The final result is compiled with the task summary generator.
Thatβs how Manus works in general. We would try to do what Manus does but with an open-source approach.
This is where OpenManus comes into play.
